The Olentangy Academy STEM program was recognized with an Outstanding Program award. Olentangy’s STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) program focuses on education that develops 21st century thinking. STEM students learn how to be innovative and think like an engineer, solve real-world problems, conduct relevant research and work with professionals in a variety of STEM fields.
All three of the district’s high schools were honored for each having received the All A Award from the Ohio Board of Education. The award is presented to schools that earn straight A's on their state report cards. Only 46 schools statewide received the All A Award last year
Scioto Ridge Elementary School was also recognized during the conference for having been named a National Blue Ribbon School. The designation was awarded to the school by the US Department of Education. Scioto Ridge Elementary is one of only seven public schools in Ohio to receive the National Blue Ribbon School title in 2016. It is among just 279 public and 50 private schools to receive the honor nationwide. It is also the first elementary school in the Olentangy Local School District to earn the Blue Ribbon designation and joins Olentangy High School and Liberty High School as the district’s other National Blue Ribbon schools.
