Superintendent Raiff Announces Attendance Boundaries

Due to the Olentangy Local School District's significant enrollment growth, voters passed a 6.9 mill ballot issue in March 2016 that included an operating levy, a permanent improvement levy and a bond issue, allowing the district to begin construction of its fourth high school. With the rapid growth, the district embarked on a K-12 redistricting process to balance enrollment in our 23 buildings and prepare to open our new Olentangy Berlin High School in fall 2018.

A Superintendent's committee, the Attendance Boundaries Committee, was established in September 2016 to examine all boundaries, K-12 within the District. The committee representing each district building, made a recommendation to Superintendent Raiff this month, after extensive research and work in understanding Olentangy's enrollment. The committee also hosted three community forums and collected feedback from more than 1,300 residents through an online form.

The Superintendent is charged by the state to assign students to their schools, and therefore, has determined new attendance boundaries assigning students beginning fall 2018. A video message from Superintendent Raiff outlining the new attendance boundaries may be viewed at this link. In addition, the slides from the presentation in the video can be found here. The maps in their entirety may be viewed here.
