Olentangy Transportation department evaluates district bus stops each summer according to student enrollment and state and district guidelines. Although we review all bus stop requests submitted outside of those parameters, they are prioritized accordingly. Please understand that there are scores of requests for bus stops, particularly at the beginning of each school year.
We establish bus stops and routes by the last week of July for the upcoming school year. The first three months of school our department is preparing for the start of school, bus safety training for all students, and practicing emergency evacuation drills which limits our time to properly evaluate requests.
All requests for a bus stop change or addition will be reviewed by a committee consisting of the director of transportation, transportation supervisors, routing managers, route monitor and drivers. Each request will be given thorough and thoughtful considersation, which takes time. Someone may contact you if additional information is needed about your request.
Once a decision has been reached, you will be contacted in writing or by phone by a member of the transportation staff.
